Rebecca began her acting career in 1999 when she took on the role of Anna Gripenhielm in the Swedish soap Nya Tider. This is her first major role in a television series, however, it was the BBC miniseries The White Queen that propelled her to international recognition. She played Elizabeth Woodville, a commoner who became Queen consort of England through her marriage to King Edward IV, for which she earned a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actress.
Ferguson’s performance in The White Queens displayed her acting prowess which helped her score major acting roles. In 2014, she took on the role of Ergenia in the action-adventure fantasy film Hercules, starring Dwayne Johnson, and landed a lead role, as MI6 agent Ilsa Faust in Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation (2015) opposite Tom Cruise.
