Biography and Early Life
She was born Mumait Abdul Rashid Khan on September 1, 1958, in Mumbai, India. Her mother’s name is Hasina Khan and her father’s name is Abdul Rashid Khan. Mumaith’s family hailed from Pakistan but moved to India where they settled on the outskirts of Mumbai.
Her father is an Indian (Tamil Nadu) and her mother is a Pakistani. She has four sisters and to support her family, she joined a small dance troop for Rupees 1500/- per month. Her sister Zabyn Khan also entered the film industry and has done some cameo appearances in Telugu films.
Career
Mumaith Khan got her big break in 2002 when she appeared as an item number in the Hindi film Kaante, and later she scored several offers from various languages. She went on to do cameo roles (item dancer) in films, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. Mumaith Khan has acted with almost all leading actors in the Indian film industry who are very popular for her sexy appealing moves and seducing voice.
She had been described as South India’s sultry, sexy jazz diva and her reputation has seen her in several films. In 2003, she appeared in the sixth season of the television reality show Jhalak Dikhhala Jaa 6 Along with Sana Saeed & Tushar.
