Growing up, he played street football, and over time, he developed a strong passion for the sport.

Even though her mom could not afford to send him to school, managed to raise money and put Mané into Generation Foot, a football academy in Dakar.

He was scouted into the French football club Metz in 2011. During his time there, he scored two goals from 22 appearances.

In August 2012, he moved to the Austrian football club Bull Salzburg after the club paid a hefty fee to Metz. He spent the next three years with them and scored 31 goals in 63 appearances.
