As an actor, Udhayanidhi debuted in the 2012 Tamil comedy flick Oru Kal Oru Kannadi alongside Hansika Motwani and Santhanam. For his role as Saravanan, he won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut – South and SIIMA Award for Best Male Debutant.
As a producer, he first bankrolled the 2008 Tamil film Kuruvi, which starred Vijay and Trisha in the lead roles.
